In 1964, Raymond L. Lutgert purchased 760 acres of undeveloped land bordering 1-1/4 miles of beachfront in Naples, Florida. He alone envisioned the potential of the remote parcel. During the next four years, Raymond lead a team of architects, engineers and land planners in the creation of a landmark plan, establishing not only the first planned unit development district in Collier County, but also the first in the State of Florida. Raymond called his new community Park Shore, a prestigious community of 550 home sites that included the first underground utility and storm water systems in Naples.
To the west of Park Shore, Raymond created Venetian Bay, a navigable body of water separating the mainland portion of Park Shore from a particular strip of especially exquisite beachfront that he reserved for a special purpose. On that strip of pure white sand, within a stone’s throw of the glittering waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Raymond created Park Shore Beach. Here, with painstaking attention to nuance and detail, he developed a collection of high-rise residences that offer the ultimate in luxury beachfront living. The first, Horizon House, was completed in 1971. Park Shore Beach was soon acknowledged as one of the most prestigious addresses in the world.
Over the past four decades, as Park Shore Beach evolved, The Lutgert Companies has developed a worldwide reputation for excellence, quality, and service. Under the direction of Chairman Scott F. Lutgert, the company continues to set the standard for the creative and environmentally responsible development of coastal properties. It also continues to set the standard for luxury, elegance and grace in condominium beachfront living.
Today, some forty years after Raymond Lutgert first walked the sands that would become Park Shore Beach, sixteen glimmering towers stand as evidence of the Lutgert Legacy. Aria is the seventeenth and final addition to that Legacy. Each residence is a virtuoso performance in its own right. Collectively they comprise an unparalleled body of work designed for the most discriminating of residents.
The result of Raymond Lutgert’s vision and creativity is a masterwork not only rich in natural beauty but also visionary in its consideration and respect for the environment. The Park Shore plan, both in concept and in application, was in fact so sound that it serves to this day as a model for future development.
